1966

This week is roughly the date of their first jam, where Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones and John Bonham rehearsed on Gerrard Street, in London. By their own account, the chemistry was felt instantly as they blasted through Train Kept a Rollin'.

1968

The first day of recording begins on this date, at Olympic Studio in London. Sessions were completed in a mere 30+ hours for a total cost of £1,782 which was self-financed.

1973

Led Zeppelin's memorable American tour in 1973 would gross an estimated $4 million, and broke several attendance records including Atlanta, Tampa and San Francisco. With public relations help from Danny Goldberg, the press would widely report on the huge success of the concerts and the newly released fifth album Houses of the Holy.

1975

Described as "a freakish Halloween party", Led Zeppelin celebrate the UK launch of their Swan Song record label at Chislehurst Caves in Kent. Strippers, magicians , fire-eaters entertained guests which included: Roy Harper, label mates Bad Company and The Pretty Things, along with an assortment of press.

1976

Led Zeppelin continued their awesome sweep of rock polls by achieving eight victories in the prestigious British and European poll conducted by New Musical Express.

1980

John Bonham makes a rare tv appearance on "All Right Now", recorded the previous month, where he is interviewed by Billy Connolly. The short chat is not very revealing as Bonham jokingly responds with one word answers.

1982

A compilation of left-over studio tracks, Coda, released on this date.

1988

Led Zeppelin reunite with Jason Bonham on drums.

1994

Influential hard rock act Led Zeppelin was honored with the International Artist Award. Vocalist Robert Plant and guitarist Jimmy Page—who recently reunited for the "Unledded" TV special, "No Quarter" album, and forthcoming tour - performed the Zeppelin classic "Black Dog" live from London. The award was presented to the duo in London.
